I’ve heard it said, “I don’t want to let go of my past. I don’t want to forget it!”
If that is your feeling, then so be it. Don’t let go. But, before you decide not to, let’s talk about that for a moment.
First of all, you don’t lose your memories when you let go of your past. In fact, just the opposite happens. You remember more of it.
The good news is (especially for those of you who would like to forget it and are groaning, saying, “Okay, if I’m going to remember more of my past, then that’s the deal breaker right there!”), when you do let go of your past, what you’re really letting go of are all the fears... and pain... and heartache... and judgement... and limited belief systems you’ve learned about yourself and the world you live in.
The gift is you won’t be encumbered by your past any more because you will no longer be imprisoned by the limited meanings you’ve attached to it. You will be able to see it through more enlightened eyes so the love will become grander and the hurts will melt away.
If you don’t let go of your past, you simply can’t move forward into something new. You are destined to keep repeating different aspects of the same dynamics for the rest of your life. Plus, and here’s where it gets heavy (literally), when you don’t release your past, the world evolves and expands around you while you, in your effort to remain in place, end up living in more density. That’s simply the way it is.
You can see this in the people around you. There are those who live on the wings of their past glories and are not at all present in their current life. On the opposite side, there are those who live in fear of their past being repeated and so they shut down and refuse to really live. In both cases, they’ve closed themselves off to the Divine Love and wonders of life they could be experiencing if they would just open themselves up to their present.
You can’t do that, though, if you’re not willing to let go of your past.
There is a lot of talk about karma these days. Well, the talk has been going on for a long time, lifetimes for some. They talk about how they have to live out their karma so they blindly accept the burdens they have created for themselves in the hopes to have a better day ‘tomorrow’. Tomorrow will never come; it’s in the future. Now is all the time you have and, inherent in the ever present now, is all of the past and all of the future. This is true because time is not linear. We might live it that way as a social convenience, but if you think about it, one hour making love is not the same as one hour stuck in traffic on the freeway while you’re late for a meeting. Aside from this whimsical example, if you want some ‘proof’ of this statement, go read some of Stephen Hawkins work or google the concept on the internet and you’ll discover that it has been proven scientifically that time is not linear.
By giving your past to the vibration of Divine Light for transformation into illumination, you are asking to be released of any burdens from your past. You will be given opportunities to ‘make amends’ on a cosmic scale by directly participating in the expansion vibration of Divine Love. This serves all of humanity, including any of the people whom you might not have treated with their due respect, and vice versus, because you had forgotten the Divinity of who we all are.
By the way, when we talk about letting go of your past, we’re talking about anything that happened before the ever present NOW.
In releasing your past to the vibration of Divine Light, asking for transformation into illumination, you are giving yourself the passport to move deeper into your present now, which allows you the freedom to create with a more refined approach to everything you do. It will open your mind and your heart to new possibilities. You will begin to see new aspects of situations that you wouldn’t be able to see if you held on to your past and the meaning you have attached to it.
I could continue to list out the advantages to releasing your past to the Divine Light Vibration for transformation into illumination, but you would be better served if I just said, “Listen to your heart. Does it feel right to release your past to make way for the new?” If you hear a ‘yes’ (which is a sense of expansion), then do it. If you hear a ‘no’ (which is a sense of contraction or non-movement), then release your fears to the Divine Light Vibration for transformation into illumination instead.
If you have decided to move upwards along the spiral of your expanded awareness, then here’s how you do it:
Begin with the Basic Activation of the Divine Light Vibration which is in this section of the website. Once you feel you are centered, declare: “I release my past to the Divine Light for transformation into illumination. I am filled with the vibration of the Divine Light. Illumine me.” Then, allow the Divine Light to do the work. You should feel a sense of expansion. If you don’t, then let go, and continue to let go, until you do.
Just to remind you, there are some recorded guided meditations on the website if you’d like to be talked through it.
